Zeeshan Khalil, A Soul we lost.
There are times when life itself becomes harsh for us. It snatches away something very important to us and leaving us with void which cannot be filled by anything. I don’t remember my first meeting with Zeeshan Khalil. Seems like he was always there and blooming his presence among our whole class. Even all our teachers used to notice his smile in every class. Yes, a smile was always there on Zeeshan’s face. But what happened to that smile?
“Life” happened to that smile. It just blew a stroke on all of our class mates, university fellows, teachers, and specially to the family of that smiling face. Life gave us the silent yet loud message the time is up for this smiling face. Be prepared for yours end.
There is no person in our class and university to whom Zeeshan Khalil was not nice. He was always very well-mannered to every person. Sadly, I don’t know about his life outside university, due to which I cannot write anything about it.
It was 8:48 pm on 25th of April, and I was in hospital, when I got a shocking message from one of our class fellow about the tragic news. I could not believe it. I did not want to believe it. Yet I called Qasim to confirm that it is a misunderstanding, and yet he said it is true. Zeeshan Khalil lost his life along with Danish, while swimming at Neela Sandh. What more tragic was that I could not even go to see him, to attend his parting ceremonies as the deceased were taken back to their Home land Kashmir. That is another void left in my heart and hearts of many others.
Death comes for us in many forms. Sometimes in form of serious illness, sometimes in form of a tragic accident. But in either form it put a seal on somebody’s story. We lost our friend but it is our turn next. But till we are alive, Zeeshan Khalil will stay alive in our memories, and prayers, and hearts.
